This weekend invites you to pause, replenish your energy, and step back into your life feeling revitalised and more in touch with your true self. Led by the Haruru team, this weekend offers spacious time for rest, relaxation, and gentle guided practices suitable for all ages and abilities.

- Two nights accommodation.
- Three nourishing meals a day prepared with care by our experienced vegan chef.
- An optional daily schedule of Body & Brain Yoga, meditation, and gentle energy-focused practices.
- Plenty of free time to rest and explore the beauty of Haruru and its surrounding areas.
- Unwind on the scenic six kilometre Haruru bush track leading to Waitangi.

Your team
Jin
Jin is the Manager of Haruru Retreat and a Wellness Movement Master with 15 years of experience. A third-degree black belt in Taekwondo, Jin leads weekly community Qi Gong classes every Monday morning at Haruru. These body and brain education practices are energy-focused and designed to support alignment, vitality, and overall wellbeing.

Maria
Maria is our warm-hearted and deeply caring cook, with many years of experience nourishing guests at retreat centres. Her abundant vegetarian and vegan creations are designed to support, restore, and uplift the body during your retreat. An incredible gardener as well, Maria has lovingly cultivated the beautiful gardens at Haruru, where much of the seasonal produce for our retreat menu is grown. Every meal is prepared with care, joy, and intention — food made with love to nourish both body and spirit.
Master Choi
Master Choi brings over 18 years of experience in Brain Education and is the Master Trainer for the Brain Education Instructor Course. He serves as Director of Brain Education and Research Ltd and holds a PhD in Brain Education, alongside postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration. Master Choi is also a 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and a nationally certified Brain Education Instructor in Korea, integrating deep academic knowledge with embodied practice and leadership.
“I have been teaching Body and Brain Yoga, Qigong, and Meditation for 18 years. I also have a background in Martial Arts, and I hold a 6th-degree black belt in Taekwondo. I’ve been a healer for as long as I can remember, and I’ve had the privilege of providing sports massage and healing for Olympic athletes. In 2004, I first connected with the Brain Education method and pursued a Doctorate Degree in Brain Education. I’ve been happily married for 22 years and have a wonderful 21 year-old son.”
